Supporters (Society of 75)

Until 2006, WBCNA operated on seed monies provided by local businesses and individuals such as Bobby Bradley, Remigius Shatas, Redstone Federal Credit Union, Sheila Brown, Sharon Morgan, Caroline Myers, Judith Smith, Arlene Stackhouse, Donna Lamb, and Nancy Archuleta.

In 2007, the WBCNA received a Small Business Administration (SBA) grant, becoming one of 125 Women’s Business Centers around the country funded by the SBA. Then in 2008, we received a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Since these federal grants require matching funds, WBCNA launched a fundraiser in 2006 to ask local businesses and individuals to make contributions for matching purposes. The “Society of 75” was designed to ask 75 businesses and/or individuals to donate $1,000 per year for 5 years.
